Confirm the substrate and application conditions. Remove contamination and loose coatings. Resolve moisture or condensation before applying.

Plan the coverage.
Measure the detail. Cut the required length and plan the edges and overlaps according to article-specific guidance.

Peel. Place. Press.
Remove the liner progressively, position the tape and press it into close contact. A suitable hand roller helps work across the detail.

Inspect the edges.
Look for lifted edges, folds and trapped air. Follow the installation guidance and assess the completed repair before putting it into service.

Do I need to heat the tape before applying it?
No. FasVix Premium is a cold-applied aluminium butyl sealing tape: its adhesive does not require heat activation. Remove the release liner, place the tape on a prepared surface and press it into full contact. Confirm the installation conditions for your selected article.
Does cold-applied mean it works in freezing conditions?
No. Cold-applied describes the method, not an unrestricted temperature range. Surface temperature, frost and condensation still matter. Ask for the FasVix application-temperature guidance before planning cold-weather work.
Can I put it straight onto a wet or dirty surface?
Prepare a clean, dry, sound surface first. Dust, grease, loose paint and moisture can interrupt adhesive contact. Identify the cause of the leak and dry the bonding area before applying the tape.
Which materials can I use it on?
The exact material and its finish matter. Tell us whether you are sealing metal, a coating, masonry, a membrane or another surface. Check compatibility and trial adhesion first. Porous or dusty substrates may need additional preparation or a suitable primer.
Why do I need to press or roll it?
Pressure brings the adhesive into close contact with the surface. Work over the tape, its edges and changes in shape so it is not simply resting across the detail. Avoid folds and trapped air; follow the selected article’s installation guidance.
Can it fix a pressurised pipe or work underwater?
Do not assume so. A surface sealing detail is different from containing pressure or remaining permanently submerged. Those applications need explicit product approval; ask before choosing the tape.
Is this a replacement for a complete roofing system?
This page concerns local sealing details, not a complete roof specification. Repeated leaks, damaged substrates, larger areas or an uncertain water-entry point should be assessed before a repair method is selected.
Are the two roll lengths otherwise identical?
Both listed articles are 50 mm wide and belong to the premium aluminium butyl range. Do not assume that every construction detail is identical. Request article-specific technical information when selecting or switching between the 5 m and 20 m formats.
